You know we couldn’t leave you hanging…for too long…on Halloween week! We’re all about tricks and treats here at Popcorn Reef, so we had to pull off something legendary to celebrate you horror fans in our city. Buddy is back in San Diego this Halloween, and he’s going hog wild in Normal Heights as we take over The Adams Avenue Theater for a night of gnarly thrills.

On October 25th, join us as we screen the most notorious film ever shot in San Diego - SLAUGHTERHOUSE - and we welcome the director of the film, Rick Roessler, along with the star of the forthcoming SLAUGHTERHOUSE sequel, Bryan Butler, in-person for a special Q&A after the film.

But that’s not all! For all of you diehard SLAUGHTERHOUSE fans, Mr. Roessler has been kind enough to bring some original props from the film to The Adams that you'll be able to see during the event and grab some pictures with.

As San Diego natives, SLAUGHTERHOUSE holds a dear place in our hearts at Popcorn Reef. We can’t be more honored to host this event, and we sincerely hope you join us for this one.

On October 25th, it’s time for 360 pounds of cleaver-mania. We’ll see you at the SLAUGHTERHOUSE!

P.S. - We recommend reading this great recent article by Diane Bell in the San Diego Union-Tribune on the making of SLAUGHTERHOUSE 2 before the show.

PLEASE NOTE:

-“What the hell is Popcorn Reef Sleepover?”

It’s a new idea we’ve been working on with The Adams Avenue Theater that’s designed to let you take a night off from 2023 and feel like you’re back in 1980, or 1990-something. Remember when you could post up on a Friday night, have some Gushers and a Capri Sun, and watch whatever was on Cinemax with your friends all night long while your parents had no clue what was happening? That’s basically what we’re going to do here - except in a giant concert hall with alcohol. Pajamas and/or costumes are encouraged, and if you come in something especially eye-catching, you might just win a prize.

We’ve also decided to open the floor plan up at The Adams to let you take your nostalgia trip a bit further. A portion of the theater floor will be completely open. We encourage you to bring blankets, pillows, and whatever else you want to lounge with directly on the ground, or you can bring your favorite camping chair* to sit in. Don’t worry - if this doesn’t sound appealing, we will still have a traditional seating area set up as well. This just gives you the option to watch the movie in a couple new ways.

- (*) If you're bringing camping chairs, please only bring those in a single or double format. Anything more heavy duty than that might bother the floors at The Adams.

-Doors are at 6:30 PM, Show will start at 7 PM sharp

-There will be no delivery of tickets via shipping or email - we'll simply have your name on the list at the door (plus however many tickets you buy). Please bring your ID for verification purposes to check in. We can check in partial parties too, so if you're buying for multiple people and you're arriving at different times, don't worry about it.

-Guest availability is subject to change due to potential illness or unforeseen circumstances. Please bear with us during these crazy times.

-If you have any questions at all, please contact eddie@popcornreef.com
