Screening: A24's New Restoration of PI + Local Short Film Pre-Show from Film Consortium San Diego
Doors open at 7 PM - Show starts at 7:30 PM sharp!
We’re back, and with improved movie-watching chairs ;)
For our next screening at the historic Adams Ave Theater, we got our hands on A24’s stunning new restoration of Darren Aronofksy’s (THE WHALE, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, BLACK SWAN) debut feature, PI. We are excited to say, this will be the first screening of the restoration in SD since the one-night Pi-Day IMAX event, and it will quite possibly be the last chance you’ll get to see it on a big screen.
Plus, we have a wonderful short film pre-show from local San Diego filmmakers, presented by Film Consortium San Diego. If you’re part of the filmmaking community here in San Diego, come early and stay late so you can enjoy a mix of networking with your peers and a night out at the movies.
The short films we will be playing are:
SNAPP (Director - Ryan Kelly, 3 min)
LIFE HAPPENS (Director - James Dubbeldam, 7 min)
SUNKEN HOLIDAY (Director - Ryan Kelly, 8 min)
Join us for a night of 8K restorations, cocktails, 90s throwback vibes, paranoid math theories, and a celebration of local talent, all at your friendly neighborhood Adams Ave Theater. We’ll see you there!
Please Note:
There will be no delivery of tickets via shipping or email - we'll simply have your name on the list at the door (plus however many tickets you buy). Please bring your ID for verification purposes to check in. We can check in partial parties too, so if you're buying for multiple people and you're arriving at different times, don't worry about it.
PI Synposis:
The 1998 surrealist psychological thriller stars Sean Gullette as a mathematician who becomes obsessed with searching for patterns in the universe as part of a quest for meaning. Twenty-five years later, Darren Aronofsky honored Pi's 25th anniversary with an 8K restoration for IMAX re-release on March 14, 2023. This is the new restoration of the film we'll be proud to present at the Adams Ave Theater on April 26th.
