This show will be hosted on Screen 10 (The Colosseum) at Regal Mira Mesa (10733 Westview Parkway), featuring one of the biggest screens in San Diego County - and it's the last show we'll host at Regal on the old school stadium seating-style seats before the theater goes full-luxury-recliner this Summer (details below.) We continue our Legends Live Forever series on May 14th at Regal Mira Mesa with a tribute to one of the most underrated actors of all time, Mr. Wings Hauser.
Although he’s given countless mind-blowing performances, Wings will undoubtedly be best remembered for his chilling role as a ruthless and psychotic Hollywood Boulevard street pimp named Ramrod in 1982’s VICE SQUAD. When asked about the film, Wings self-described it as “JAWS on land” (with himself playing the Jaws role), and that’s pretty much all you need to know.
VICE SQUAD is a terrifying look at Los Angeles street life in the 1980s. When word gets out that a well-intentioned sex worker named Princess (Season Hubley) has snitched on him, the degenerate murderous monster Ramrod goes on a completely unhinged spree of destruction, mayhem, and death to find Princess and enact his revenge. An edge-of-your-seat thrill ride that is simultaneously horrifying, adrenaline-fueled, and outrageously over-the-top, VICE SQUAD is one of the most notorious films of the 1980s, and it’s also one of the best movies you could ever watch with a giant crowd.
On May 14th, join us as we bring the house down once again at Regal Mira Mesa for the ultimate celebration of one of the wildest singular performances in the history of cinema. You might leave the theater confused, and you might be freaked out, but one thing’s for sure. You’ll never forget Wings Hauser’s performance in VICE SQUAD.
But wait… there’s more. After almost 25 years of incredible service, the giant Colosseum theater at Regal Mira Mesa will be undergoing renovations this summer as the theater fully transitions to a recliner seating set-up. Of course, the theater, and the giantness of it, is not going away - but the old-school stadium seating where you can put your feet up on the chairs and see hundreds of other folks in the crowd alongside you will soon only be a memory. Rock with us as we honor Wings in one of the biggest auditoriums he’s ever been screened on, and as we send off the old school version of Screen 10 in the wildest way possible.
