Popcorn Reef’s ONE NIGHT ONLY series features new films that embrace the spectacle of movie magic and deserve to get their shine on the big screen. While these films might not actually only play theatrically for “one night only” in San Diego, we feel that we can do our best here at Popcorn Reef, even if it is only for one night, to celebrate them in the most grandiose, cinematic way that we can.

Director Rick Roessler, Producer Jerry Encoe, and many members of the cast and crew will be in attendance for a post-film Q&A following the screening.

Last year, we brought the San Diego-shot slasher classic SLAUGHTERHOUSE back to the big screen, and we were lucky enough to have several members of the cast and crew join us for a reunion on stage after the film. This Halloween season, the SLAUGHTERHOUSE team is coming back to Popcorn Reef, in a very big way.
On Wednesday, October 23rd, we welcome you to join us at the Regal Mira Mesa for the WORLD THEATRICAL PREMIERE of the highly anticipated SLAUGHTERHOUSE 2: DEATH METAL. You heard us right. This is the first time the film will ever be shown theatrically, not even at a film festival. You'll be right in there seeing the film with many of the cast and crew members during their first watch as well.
Why are the filmmakers letting us do this? It's all for you, San Diego. The filmmakers wanted to thank the SD horror community for all of the support over the years. It's about time for us to have our own Hollywood moment, right here in SD, and we're honored to be a part of it.
