This show will be hosted on the newly renovated Screen 7 at Regal Mira Mesa (10733 Westview Parkway), on Regal's amazing new luxury recliners. We filmed a video to give you guys a behind-the-scenes tour of some of the newly renovated auditoriums - check that out here.
What's the number one thing you'd expect to see at the movies during the summer? Yep, you guessed it. A sequel. So all of us at Popcorn Reef figured we'd do our version of a sequel this year to kick The Season off at our favorite movie theater, Regal Mira Mesa. Last year - the original Summer Sleepover was our highest attended marathon of the year. Thank you guys for showing up to celebrate fun in the sun. This year, we're upping the ante by featuring three summer-themed slasher films back-to-back-to-back. If you like celebrating the dark side of long summer nights, this is your ticket. And you better bring a blanket to cover your eyes for this all-night horror show.
What are we going to screen? It wouldn't be fun if we let the cat out of the bag entirely. But since it hasn't played theatrically in SD for a very long time, we will announce right away that the first feature of the evening will be Robert Hiltzik's all-time classic SLEEPAWAY CAMP, screened in a state-of-the-art multiplex with reclining seats for what might be the first time anywhere, worldwide. Kick your summer off right with Angela, Ricky, and the rest of the gang, and get a Cherry/Blue Raspberry mix Icee from the refreshment stand to make the summer official. And that's just the beginning. Two more features will storm the screen after that will destroy your mind, body, and soul.
Summer is here, San Diego. We just hope you can survive the end of this night so you can enjoy the rest of your vacation.

-No, it's not an "overnight" sleepover. You'll be out by approximately midnight.
-Feel free to leave early. Feel free to come late. It's a casual thing. Just make sure you check in with the folks up front at Regal and that they scan your ticket when you enter.
-Regal has a full kitchen with some amazing "real food" options in addition to the standard movie theater concessions. They also have wine and beer available for sale. Please take advantage of this - we will have breaks where trailers and old school snipes will be playing between the films, so you won't miss a thing.
-Please bring blankets, pillows, and whatever else you want to make this the most comfortable movie theater marathon you've ever experienced.
