It’s Summer at the movies, and you know that in Popcorn Reef terms, it’s the most important time of the year. All summer long, we’ll be bringing you a mix of our favorite popcorn flicks and deep cuts at Regal Mira Mesa. We hope that our selections this year will inspire the joy, freedom, and endless possibilities that Summer Movie Season evokes in us every time it rolls back around. This is the time of year to enjoy yourself.
To kick off June, strap on your parachutes, because we’re taking you back to the summer of 1990 for Lewis Teague’s popcorn action prototype, NAVY SEALS. If you’ve never seen SEALS, there’s nothing really to say except, get ready to have a blast. Full of bad ass action sequences, light humor, and unabashed patriotism, NAVY SEALS is the type of movie they just don’t make anymore, but should. It’s a perfect movie to kick off our summer slate at Regal Mira Mesa, and beyond everything else…it’s also peak Charlie Sheen.
Kick back a couple of brewskis (Regal has plenty of beer) and soak in all of the jaw-dropping-stunt-sequences and early 90s glory you can handle on June 11th. We’re bringing the SEALS back to the big screen in San Diego for the first time in over 30 years. What the hell took so long?
NAVY SEALS Synopsis:
A battle-hardened SEAL Team (led by Charlie Sheen and Michael Biehn) set off on a mission to destroy a shipment of US-built Stinger missiles that have fallen into terrorist hands.
