G. 7!
I’m trying to watch these broads work out.
Lord knows I have.
You. Bastard.
Noooo!
You’ve got a personality like a dead moth.
I paid for the popcorn machine.
There’s so many amazing lines from DIRTY WORK that are so hard baked into our brains, sometimes we forget that they originally came from the film. One of the most beloved comedies of the 90s for anybody that’s a true movie fan, DIRTY WORK is genuine masterpiece that gets funnier every time you watch it.
Mitch Weaver (Norm MacDonald, in his signature role) is having a hard time in life. After getting fired from his job as a pizza delivery driver, and getting dumped by his girlfriend, the news just keeps getting worse. His best friend Sam’s (Artie Lange) Dad, Pops (Jack Warden), is in need of a heart transplant, and the guys need cash fast to pay off the degenerate gambler surgeon (Chevy Chase) willing to bump his name up to the top of the donor list. So Mitch and Sam start a revenge-for-hire business, and decide to stop taking crap from everyone.
Directed with a breezy yet relentless pace by the late Bob Saget, and featuring an all-star supporting cast including Don Rickles, Chris Farley, and Christopher McDonald, DIRTY WORK is a classic among comedy classics, and one of our favorite films of all time from any genre.
We can’t believe we get to write this out on paper, but on July 9th, join us at Regal Mira Mesa as we welcome the co-writer of the film, Mr. Frank Sebastiano (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, BEER LEAGUE), live in person for a post-film Q&A as we host the San Diego Theatrical Premiere of the brand new, never-before-seen “Dirtier Cut” of the film.
As “dirty” as DIRTY WORK has always been, don’t forget, it’s a PG-13 movie. The studio made the fellas trim things down in an attempt to appeal to a broader audience at the time. Maybe the strategy worked (we saw the movie at the age of 10 for the first time, and haven’t stopped watching it since,) but DIRTY WORK was shot as an R-rated film. This long-lost original “Dirtier Cut” was a thing of legend for many years, and no one ever thought it could see the light of day. But, thanks to Frank’s participation, and the wonderful work of a brilliant restoration team, the original vision of DIRTY WORK has now been fully realized, with seven minutes of never-before-seen alternate takes, dialogue, and footage brought back into the film. We can’t wait to learn how a comedy classic came to be when we sit down with Mr. Sebastiano, and we hope that you get some questions ready for him as well.
It will make us really wistful if you join us on July 9th for our tribute to one of the funniest movies ever made.
All right. Let’s go.
